Abilities:
    I give public talks in:        English, Bengali, French, Hindi and Urdu.
    GCE passes include A-level:    French, German.
    I can read and speak some:     Nepali, Spanish, Italian, (Chinese Mandarin Pinyin)
    I can read slowly in:          Arabic, Gujarati, Punjabi.
    Operating as a small business, JASPELL, I design and market multilingual word processing software for the above languages plus Japanese. The range now also covers Latin 1, 2, 3 and 4, meaning from Greenlandic to Turkish, from Lappish to Afrikaans. Vietnamese and  Chinese (Mandarin Pinyin) are included too. I also do a translation service for some of these languages.

Key Experience:
    My professional life has related mainly to 28 years in civil engineering up to project management design and control requiring high-level contact with Government departments and the public in UK and Bangladesh. I often provided civil engineering instruction or training in Bengali. Major projects included the Jamuna Bridge approach road and bridge end complex infrastructure design; Merthyr-Tydfil A470 Pentrebach to Cefn Coed design and project management; East-West Interconnector, Jamuna, Bangladesh construction; and the Thames Barrier construction.
    I am very grateful for the great help, training and opportunities given to me to serve others by an internationally organized peaceful brotherhood. This has equipped myself and millions of others. On this charitable basis I have enjoyed 30 years helping people of many languages and backgrounds, meeting them publicly and calling from house to house.
    My circumstances permitted me to move with my family (at our own expense) into East London in 1985 and continue there until 2002 in order to serve better the people we love. This has allowed me to teach many non-Bengali people who serve on the same charitable, unpaid basis, to speak, read and write proper Bengali. Several aids created for this purpose include a far-reaching Bengali manual, dictionary, and supplementary aids like recorded tapes and a phrasebook. These are suitable for taught or self-teach methods. In Dhaka I helped  train a team of Bengali translators. Currently I am teaching small groups preliminary Chinese Mandarin using the Pinyin Romanized script system for which I have developed comprehensive instruction and self-teach materials for beginners.
    Prior to becoming a civil engineer I served from 1965 to 1972 in the Diplomatic Service including 3 years in Calcutta.
